Sometimes, taking some perspective can help…

Sometimes, taking some perspective can help…

Can you believe January is already way behind us?

Are you having a déjà-vu or experiencing a Groundhog Day effect?…

Regardless of where you are in the world, the amount of disruptive news is staggering these days, and potentially a root cause for how fast January has felt. Also a source of stress and overwhelm. When you feel like things are getting out of control, you still have a choice to change your experience of the world.

  1. Focus on things you can control
    • Take time to breathe (at least from time to time during the day) and connect to the here and now
    • Drink water and rest intentionally
    • Create healthy habits such as making your bed every day, stretching and meditating in the morning, taking breaks and going for a walk without distractions
    • Eat whole foods grown locally and processed by you
    • Be mindful about what you allow to get into your body and mind e.g. news, social media, images, sounds, extraordinary stories that look too good to be true (because they are and if you look closer, aberrant details on photos confirm AI involvement)

  2. Be selective about the things you can’t control
    • If there is a good reason why you listen to, or watch, the news, try to select only from a few topics important to you and ignore the rest - that way your preserve your brain from being saturated by a huge volume of disturbing news that will eventually contribute to numbness
    • Allow yourself a few minutes of distraction with joyful/beautiful posts of nature or animals or goodness in the world - As an example, check out the ongoing planetary alignment that we can observe this month in the night sky of the northern hemisphere! That will hopefully help elevate your perspective…

  3. Need some support?

Consider attending one of our workshops that we hosts almost weekly. Check out future events here.
