Making Waves in Our Community: The Machestic Dragons and the Power of Paddling with Purpose
In the heart of Mercer County, a unique team is making waves both on the water and in the lives of breast cancer survivors. The Machestic Dragons is a dragon boat team made up of breast cancer survivors and their supporters, paddling together in a vibrant display of strength, healing, and community.
Founded on the belief that physical activity, camaraderie, and empowerment can play a vital role in the recovery journey, the Machestic Dragons is more than a team, it's a family. Through weekly practices at Mercer Lake, community events, and competitive races, we create a space for survivors to rebuild not just their strength, but their spirit.
This year, we’re proud to be featured on the YourTownTube show, where our President Francesca Gervasi shares our mission and the deep impact our team has had on so many lives.
We were also honored to be guests on the Jersey Buzz Podcast with April Sette, highlighting the resilience and hope at the heart of our story. You can listen to that episode here: https://bit.ly/
Beyond paddling, the Machestic Dragons are active members of the community, raising awareness about breast cancer, promoting wellness, and offering outreach and support to those navigating their own journeys. One of our most meaningful events is our Paddle for Pink Festival, held each June at Mercer Lake, where we invite the community to join us for a day of racing, remembrance, and celebration.
As proud members of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce, we are deeply grateful for the support and visibility this community brings to our mission. We invite you to learn more, get involved, or even join us on the water, no paddling experience required!
Together, we paddle. Together, we heal.
