The Bridge Academy Welcomes New Director of Education
The Bridge Academy is pleased to welcome a new Director of Education, Ms. Karen Savar, following the retirement of their former director,
Ms. Susan Morris, who retired in June after leading the school for 21 years.
Ms. Savar has worked in Special Education for 30 years. She earned her master’s degree in educational administration from The College of New Jersey in 2002. She came to The Bridge Academy as a physical education and health teacher at the school’s inception in 2003. Ten years ago, she added vice-principal duties to her teaching responsibilities. “As a founding member of Bridge, I have enjoyed helping it to grow and evolve over the past 21 years and I look forward to continuing the vision and mission of the school, which is to help students develop and reach their full academic and social potential. We have an extraordinary staff who continues to amaze me with their child-centered approach to teaching. I am excited to continue this journey.”
Regarding her successor, outgoing director and Bridge Academy Founder Susan Morris remarked, “Karen and I have worked together for over 25 years. I have every confidence she will continue to ensure the vision of The Bridge Academy and the positive environment we provide for our students!”
