
Program Manager
YEA! PROGRAM MANAGER SCOPE OF WORK
YEA! is a groundbreaking and exciting entrepreneurship program that transforms high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs. Through the program, thirty (30) students in grades 9-12 generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors, get real funding and launch their own REAL companies over the course of a 30-week program.
The Princeton Regional Chamber Foundation has partnered with The College of New Jersey to bring YEA! to Mercer County. The Foundation is searching for an Independent Contractor to manage the 2025-2026 cycle of the program.
The Program Manager will work cooperatively with the Foundation staff and/or appropriate TCNJ staff to complete the following scope of work:
Student Recruitment and Selection
Market the opportunity and benefits to students and parents of prospective students
Solicit and secure student applications by the application deadline
Interview prospective YEA! students using the YEA! materials and processes
Review student applications, make student admissions decisions and send out acceptance, denied and wait list letters
Business Community Participant Recruitment
Identify and secure guest speakers, mentors, field trip hosts, and judges for the YEA! program following the YEA! process and by the deadlines
Serve as primary point of contact for community volunteers
Event Management
Arrange and manage all events including YEA! Admitted Student & Parent Orientation, Investor Panel, CEO Roundtable, Media Meet & Greet, Trade Show and Graduation
Prepare show-flow; manage event operations with the support of the Chamber staff
Manage the Classroom & Academic Activity
Attend all classes during the academic year (3-4 hours per week)
Assist the instructor in class (take attendance, distribute student materials, introduce guest speakers, document homework, handle student in-class, follow-up)
Be responsible for & manage all weekly parent/student communication
Coordinate all field trips, speakers, mentor visits, and special events
Contract Terms:
Ideal contract duration is May 1, 2025-May 20, 2026.
A 5-10-hour weekly time commitment is estimated for this role, not to exceed 400 hours for the duration of the contract.
Hourly rate is $40-50, negotiable based on experience, and paid bi-weekly based on promptly-submitted, complete time-sheets.
Complete training is provided (paid).
As this is an Independent Contractor role, the Contractor utilizes their own office space, equipment, and supplies.
Requirements:
Must be able to attend all YEA! class sessions, field trips and special events.
Classes begin Tuesday, October 21, 2025 and run weekly until May 19, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 pm on campus at TCNJ.
Qualifications:
Strong administrative skills
Strong connection with either the education community, business community or both
Passion for entrepreneurship education
Volunteer recruitment, event coordination, or other relatable professional experience
Training and presentation experience strongly preferred
Enthusiastic, high energy, positive, “people person"
Professional, makes a great impression
Support:
The Independent Contractor will be directly supported by the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation Director. Additional support will be provided by the identified liaison at The College of New Jersey.
The Contractor will be able to leverage the membership, relationships, and reputation of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce and its professional staff to achieve the goals outlined in the contract. The PMRCC is the State’s oldest and largest regional Chamber of Commerce, with a membership of over 1000 businesses and organizations.
The College of New Jersey School of Business will serve as a resource for various program needs as appropriate.
