Mercer Council School Based Youth Services Mental Health Therapist
Provide individual counseling to students and support services to their families.
● Facilitate group counseling sessions based on assessed or expressed needs.
● Collaborate with Ewing High School administration, faculty, and staff to strengthen ASYSST
programming and service delivery.
● Work closely with ASYSST team members to ensure integrated, student-centered support.
● Provide referrals and follow-up services, including connecting students to aftercare resources
within Mercer County.
● Adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to documentation, confidentiality, telehealth (if
applicable), and mandated reporting.
● Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and documentation.
● Enter required data into the SBYSP program database.
● Help publicize and promote ASYSST services to students and families, and support consistent
engagement in available programs.
Essential Qualifications
● Current, valid, unrestricted NJ professional licensure required:
LAC, LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LISW, LCMHC, LCPC, LMHC, or Clinical Psychologist.
● Minimal Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related mental health
discipline.
● Proof of personal professional liability insurance.
● Experience developing and delivering psychoeducational content using evidence-based practices.
● Proficiency with social media, blogging, Microsoft Office, YouTube, and Google Workspace.
● Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
● Willingness to pursue Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential within the first 2–3 years
of employment.
