
Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator
Overview
Mount Carmel Guild is a 105-year-old trusted nonprofit, located in the heart of Trenton, NJ and part of the Diocese of Trenton. The organization serves the most vulnerable across Mercer County through food assistance and home health nursing services and is currently seeking a creative and mission-driven Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a motivated brand storyteller who is passionate about community impact and thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. The incumbent will lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all marketing, media, and public relations efforts to help elevate the Guild’s profile, deepen donor and volunteer engagement, support fundraising and programmatic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Develop and implement marketing and PR strategies that reflect the Guild’s mission and programs;
- Manage all internal and external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and donor materials;
- Lead content creation and manage all digital platforms (website, social media, email marketing etc.);
- Design promotional materials for events, campaigns, and program outreach;
- Coordinate media outreach and maintain press relationships;
- Support fundraising efforts by producing compelling donor appeals, event promotions, and impact stories;
- Serve as brand steward to ensure consistent voice, tone, and visuals across all materials;
- Photograph and document key moments and events for use in print and digital materials;
- Track and report marketing KPIs and engagement data to help inform strategy;
- Collaborate with development and program teams to align messaging with outcomes;
Donor Engagement and Event Support
- Assist the Executive Director and development team in creating donor-facing materials and campaign messaging;
- Provide marketing and logistical support for fundraising and community events;
- Attend business or social networking events to help build strategic community relationship and promote the Guild’s vital work;
- Assist with donor stewardship efforts, including follow-up communication, acknowledgements, and personalized outreach.
Community Engagement and Advocacy:
- Represent the Guild at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities to build partnerships and increase visibility;
- Maintain relationships with local schools, parishes, and business organizations to foster collaboration;
- Advocate for the needs of the most vulnerable populations served by the Guild.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a marketing or PR role (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing, editing, and brand storytelling skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms, website CMS, email marketing tools, and Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Passion for mission-driven work and sensitivity to diverse audiences
- Experience with event planning, photography/videography, and graphic design a plus
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to attend events and meetings.This is an in-person role. Hybrid work flexibility may be available at the discretion of the Executive Director.
