Before You Set Another Q4 Goal, Ask This
The final quarter of the year has a way of making us look ahead: What still needs to get done? Which goals can we reach before December?
But before adding another commitment, it’s worth asking a different question: Who and what deserves to come with me into this next season?
That question applies to our work, our relationships, and the expectations we’ve carried for so long that we rarely stop to examine them. It also applies to our networks. We can be grateful for the people we’ve met while getting more intentional about where we invest our time and energy next.
For me, this isn’t about making dramatic changes or cutting people off. Sometimes it’s as simple as reaching out to someone you’ve missed, making room for a new connection, or giving yourself permission to stop over-investing in an obligation that no longer fits.
Before Q4 begins, take a moment to name one relationship you want to nurture and one commitment you may be ready to release. What might you have room for if you did?
I explore this more personally in this week’s Nurture & Navigate, including the four questions I’m using to take stock of my relationships and enter the final quarter with intention.
