Volunteer to Harvest at America's Grow-a-Row!
America's Grow-a-Row is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and 423-acre farm based in Hunterdon County that grows, gleans, and gives fresh produce to our neighbors in need through the efforts of thousands of volunteers each year. From our inception in 2002, we've donated over 25 million pounds of produce that is distributed through hunger relief agencies in NJ and 28 states beyond. Last season we donated 4.2 million pounds of produce with the help of over 14,000 volunteers!
Our volunteer events take place Monday-Friday, 9am-12pm, from June through mid-November. During volunteer events, we start with a brief introduction of how we got started, what you’ll be doing, and why your volunteering makes a difference. Then we go off to the fields to harvest a crop. At the end of the event, we tell you how many thousands of pounds of produce you harvested and how many people you fed. The numbers are always inspiring! Groups are welcome to stay and eat their lunch afterwards at our picnic tables.
Check out our volunteer page (https://americasgrowarow.org/volunteer/) to fill out a group volunteer form or sign up as an individual. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. No previous experience required, as we provide all instructions and tools needed. Groups can be as big as 250 volunteers! Corporations, families, scouts, schools, faith-based groups, and more are welcome.
