"Stress Is Inevitable. Burnout Isn't." Local Author Releases New Book on Workplace Wellbeing

Carol Rickard, LCSW, is celebrating the release of her new book, *Burnout REimagined: Why Healthcare Professionals Aren't Burning Out—Their Compartment Is Overflowing*, available beginning June 2nd in Kindle and paperback formats.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, Rickard has dedicated her career to helping people navigate stress, mental health challenges, and workplace wellbeing. Today, she is known as a keynote speaker, creator of the Overflow Model®, and developer of the Overflow RESET System™.
The book challenges a widely accepted belief: that burnout is the inevitable result of working in high-stress professions.
"Stress is inevitable. Burnout isn't," says Rickard. "What many people are experiencing isn't permanent burnout—it's accumulated stress that has never been fully released. When we understand what's really happening, we can finally do something about it."
Drawing from her experience supporting healthcare professionals, as well as her own personal journey, *Burnout REimagined* introduces a practical framework that helps readers recognize stress accumulation, reset their stress response, and prevent stress from carrying over day after day.
The release comes at a time when organizations across industries continue to struggle with employee wellbeing, retention, and workplace stress.
In addition to her clinical background, Rickard is a two-time TEDx speaker whose presentations focus on helping professionals understand why stress continues to build and what can be done about it in real time.
The book is part of Rickard's broader mission to help people "Stop the Overflow™" by providing practical tools that can be used in seconds—not hours—to reduce accumulated stress before it impacts health, performance, and quality of life.
