Introducing Woods Primary and Behavioral Health Center at Hamilton

Woods Services, an affiliate of Woods System of Care—the leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—and RWJBarnabas Health—New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive academic health system—have teamed up to open a new practice, located inside Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton. Woods Primary and Behavioral Health Center at Hamilton (Woods at Hamilton) will be the first of its kind in the area to offer integrated primary care and behavioral health services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, neurodiversity and complex healthcare needs. With integrated care, all of an individual’s providers work together to provide seamless communication and whole-person care. This improves health outcomes, increases convenience, and reduces costs.

Woods at Hamilton will fill a significant gap in healthcare for anyone in the area looking for knowledgeable and compassionate care from providers who are experienced working with this population. The practice will provide all standard primary care services for children and adults, will have an onsite lab, and will provide medication management starting fall 2025 and therapy services beginning spring 2026. It is designed to be sensory friendly and has accessible equipment, such as a wheelchair scale and electric exam tables.

Being located in the hospital will allow Woods at Hamilton providers to easily make warm handoffs and referrals to RWJBarnabas Health specialists located on-site as needed. The goal is to make accessing the best quality, whole-person healthcare as easy as possible for individuals and their caregivers seamlessly.
