Friends of the Center Event

Friends of the Center Event

In a special evening of admiration and support, the John O. Wilson Hamilton Neighborhood Center, Inc. recently hosted its first ever “Friends of the Center” event to raise program awareness, celebrate its longstanding history of impactful services, and honor its many dedicated volunteers and community partners.

With more than 50 supporters, stakeholders and community leaders in attendance, the event featured Executive Director Laurethea Kidd providing introductions and welcoming remarks followed by a series of guest speakers who noted the remarkable 50+ year history of the organization and its wide array of programs and services which address hunger relief, homeless prevention, youth and family services, senior activities, and wellness initiatives.

Among the many special guests who shared their personal stories and deep connection to the nonprofit community center included Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, Pastoral Servant Leader Dr. Joseph E. Woods, Hamilton Township Council officials, Board President and Mercer County Commissioner Nina Melker, and several of their clients. Following these remarks, the program concluded with a very touching volunteer recognition awards ceremony which honored several individual supporters along with key partner organizations including Aaron Lodge No. 9, Lady Orchid Assembly #44, Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'í Community of Hamilton Township, and Women Who Move Mercer.

To help support the ongoing impactful programs and services of the John O. Wilson Center, individuals and businesses can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting www.jowilsoncenter.org or calling (609) 393-6480.
