The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ) will host its annual Champions for Children Gala on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ.
This inspirational evening will convene philanthropic leaders, corporate partners, and community advocates committed to strengthening children, families, and communities across New Jersey.
The event’s emcee, Jim Donovan, is a 15-time Emmy Award winner and one of our region’s most trusted voices. Jim joined CBS Philadelphia in 2004 as the station’s “On Your Side” consumer reporter, and in 2016 he took the helm of the morning newscast, helping relaunch and grow it into one of the area’s most-watched programs.
Now, he’s bringing that same energy and passion for community to Champions for Children.
Honorees
Freedom Green, Trenton Housing Authority
Recognized for his leadership and commitment to advancing opportunity and stability for families in the Trenton community as well as mentoring youth in the Trenton schools.
Maureen Levine, Trademark Paralegal, Church & Dwight
A dedicated CHSofNJ supporter and Kidsbridge board member and volunteer for many years, Levine is being honored for her extraordinary generosity of time and resources. Through both personal and corporate contributions, she has significantly strengthened CHSofNJ’s school-based initiatives, particularly the Kidsbridge program.
Paul Schaffer, Senior Vice President Advisor, CAPTRUST
Schaffer’s passion for youth development is reflected in his philanthropic leadership and hands-on volunteerism. Through his gifts of time, talent, and treasure—and by engaging colleagues and family members in service—he has made a meaningful impact on CHSofNJ’s mission to build healthy families.
David Schoner, Senior Advisor, New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission
Schoner is being recognized for his advocacy and commitment to expanding opportunity for children. His efforts helped inspire a transformative donation from Netflix in support of CHSofNJ’s School-Based Services.
