Champions for Children Gala Strikes Gold for New Jersey Families

The Children's Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ) celebrated a golden evening of impact and inspiration at its signature Champions for Children gala on March 28, marking an extraordinary milestone:132 years of saving children’s lives and building healthy families.

Held at the breathtaking Grounds for Sculpture, the sold-out event welcomed more than 200 guests for an unforgettable night of cocktails, auctions, and a powerful program highlighting CHSofNJ’s life-changing work across the state.

The evening was emceed by 15-time Emmy Award winner Jim Donovan, whose warmth and energy set the tone for a celebration of service and community. During the program, CHSofNJ proudly honored four remarkable individuals as Champions for Children: Maureen Levine, Paul Schaffer, David W. Schoner, and Freedom Green; recognizing their exceptional dedication and commitment to improving the lives of children and families.

“Champions for Children is a powerful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with purpose,” said CHSofNJ CEO Julie Dees. “We are deeply grateful to our supporters, partners, and honorees who make this work—and this celebration—so meaningful.”

Building on the momentum of this year’s success, CHSofNJ is pleased to announce that the next Champions for Children gala will take place on Saturday, April 24, 2027, returning to the Grounds for Sculpture.
