United States Department Of Labor - Wage & Hour Division
USDOL-WHD will be in attendance as informational resource for students who are preparing to graduate, who have graduated, and those who take on internships, or enter a different workforce. Understanding their fundamental workplace rights is a crucial step in career development. Our presence would allow us to provide vital, on-the-spot guidance on: The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Covering essential topics like minimum wage, overtime, exemptions, misclassifications, and other employment regulations. The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA): Assisting both employers and employees in navigating work-life balances and leave compliance. Government Contracts Enforcement: Offering crucial information regarding prevailing wage laws, fringe benefits, and compliance under the Davis-Bacon Act (DBRA) and the Service Contract Act (SCA). This is particularly valuable for local contractors and businesses looking to partner with federal entities.
