May Membership Luncheon
Energy, Infrastructure & Economic Growth: New Jersey’s Competitive Edge
If Mercer County is going to remain one of the economic engines of this state, we must ensure energy policy supports growth.
This discussion focuses on the reality that energy policy is economic policy — the decisions we make about generation, transmission, and infrastructure directly shape New Jersey’s competitiveness, investment climate, and long-term growth. It will also highlight the many programs available through our utilities and energy companies that help businesses and residents manage costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen reliability. As demand accelerates with electrification, advanced manufacturing, and digital infrastructure, workforce development becomes central to success. By 2030, an estimated 500,000 additional electricians will be needed nationwide, underscoring the scale of opportunity and the urgency of preparing the next generation of skilled workers.
